Magnolia Junior High School was recently awarded the Healthier US School Challenge initiative Silver Award.
According to the United States Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service website, Healthier US School Challenge (HUSSC) is a voluntary initiative established in 2004 to recognize those schools participating in the National School Lunch Program that have created healthier school environments through promotion of nutrition and physical activity.
Four Moss Point cheerleaders have been awarded All-American gold medals for their outstanding cheerleading abilities. Addie Grier from Magnolia Junior High and Marchionda Johnson, Brianna Mitchell, and Jacqueline McMillan from Moss Point High School were granted the award over the summer at the Universal Cheerleaders Association camp in Panama City, Florida.
Moss Point Faculty and staff started the year off with Goal 3 of the district’s strategic plan, Provide More Professional Development, in mind. Jeff Mumford, Magnolia Junior High School’s new principal, held his professional development meeting to highlight his expectations for administrators and teachers.
